District Hike Training Weekend
Sat 1st/2nd March 2003
In preperation for the Flintshire District Hike, Saltney Ferry Scouts and Explorers attended a training weekend at Gladstone Training Centre. During the weekend the Scouts and Explorers learnt a number of skills, and information regarding hiking. This is in preparation for the Challenge Hike on the 22nd/23rd March. A total of 10 Scouts, and 4 Explorers attended the weekend form Saltney Ferry. During the weekend a night hike was held, with our Explorers recording the record time of 50 minutes(they must have hitched a lift I think!). We took the opportunity to invest another two Scouts over the weekend, and generally a good time was had by all.
Group photo taken during the weekend. Unfortunately I could not run quick enough to get in the picture, but may be for the sake of you it was better I didn't!!!
The weekend ended with a Tug-of-war contest. But unfortunately our two teams met, and the picture above shows the result!
More photo's of the Tug-of-war.
Explorers trying to avoid the camera (well they tried!)
No it's not lipstick, it is one of our Scouts eating all his emergency rations!
Some Scouts just love the camera, whilst others try to hide!
Some more investiture pictures.
