Eccleston Overnight Hike/Camp

and Crocky Trail

11th/12th April 2003

Saltney Ferry Scouts and Explorers went on a night hike on the evening of Friday 11th April. After holding a regular meeting, we packed our bags and drove down to Dukes Drive near Overleigh roundabout. The walk started at 10:15, going down the Duke of Westminsters drive, along the bank of the River Dee, and down to Eccleston. Thanks to the kindness of Eaton Hall Estates we were able to pitch our tents alongside the River Dee. It was 12:15 on Saturday morning when the tents were starting to go up, and 9:30am when they were down again.

We then set off for Waverton and the Crocky Trail. Arriving at the Trail at 1:00pm on Saturday. We then explored the trail. The cost of the event was £5.00, and proved to be a very successful event. Many thanks go to the Duke of Westminster, and Eaton Hall Estates for the cooperation they showed.
